Responsibilities Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals Examine patients’ health conditions to identify diseases and injuries Help patients develop healthy habits, break old habits and reshape their approach to wellness Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health Prescribe and administer medications and treatments Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases Participate in health care policy and planning Advise patients on health care Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities Be the patient advocate Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues Qualifications College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities Language: English Education: Degree in medicine Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Work Setting Private practice Clinic On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Location Edmonton, Alberta T5H 2W9 Salary & Benefits Salary: $200,000 to $400,000 annually (Fee per Service). Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
