Overview
Position Summary: LONGITUDINAL FAMILY PRACTICE (LFP) PAYMENT MODEL. Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician with full-scope skills/experience (including ER) to join a well-established, full-scope Family Medicine clinic in Fort St John, BC.
Expected commitment: 4 days/week (32 hours) in the clinic/office, plus hospital inpatient work and Emergency Room coverage (8-hour shifts, up to 6 shifts per month). In addition to clinic/office, inpatient, and ER work, there may be opportunities for additional Fee-For-Service income opportunities, including surgical assists, maternity, primary OB, advanced OB with C-section (if qualified), and outreach to nearby First Nations communities where applicable.
Fort St. John Hospital is a new state-of-the-art 55-bed hospital and 123-bed residential care facility serving a population of approximately 25,000 with a catchment area of about 70,000. The Emergency Room sees 25,000+ visits per year.
Fort St. John is known as “The Energetic City” and is located at Mile 47 of the Alaska Highway. The city offers various amenities and recreational opportunities in a vibrant Northeastern British Columbia community.
Qualifications
Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License can be Full or Provisional. Start date is negotiable.
Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible: Mandatory
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA): Mandatory
