The Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. This competition is open only to PAGC First Nation Members and permanent employees of the Prince Albert Grand Council. Reporting to the PAGC Executive, the Executive Director is accountable to the elected officials and the Council of Chiefs. The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of PAGC programs and services. This position is responsible for implementing the strategic direction established by the PAGC Elected Officials and the Council of Chiefs, overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the organization, and ensuring the responsible stewardship of the organization’s financial, human, physical, and information resources. The successful candidate will be an experienced, visionary leader with a demonstrated ability to lead a complex organization, foster strong relationships with Member First Nations and stakeholders, and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Position Summary Ensure the timely completion of annual financial audits by providing appropriate financial oversight and monitoring financial reporting, compliance with funding agreements, and organizational accountability. Provide leadership and direction to Program Directors and Managers to ensure organizational goals, strategic priorities, and operational plans are effectively implemented. Implement the strategic direction, policies, and decisions established by the PAGC Executive and Council of Chiefs. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of organizational policies, strategic plans, budgets, and operational priorities. Oversee the effective stewardship of PAGC's human, financial, physical, and information resources. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Ensure Program Directors and Managers prepare annual operating and capital budgets, maintain appropriate financial controls, and provide accurate and timely financial reporting. Ensure PAGC fulfills its contractual obligations and complies with all applicable legislation, funding agreements, policies, and reporting requirements. Develop and maintain effective working relationships and communications with Member First Nations, federal and provincial governments, Indigenous organizations, funding agencies, and other stakeholders. Represent the Prince Albert Grand Council with governments, organizations, corporations, professional associations, the media, and the public, as directed by the PAGC Executive when needed. Provide timely advice, reports, and recommendations to the PAGC Executive and Council of Chiefs to support informed decision‑making. From time to time may be called on to represent PAGC and its Council of Chiefs. Education & Experience Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Commerce, Social Sciences, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and extensive senior leadership experience may be considered. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive senior management or executive leadership experience, preferably within a First Nations, Indigenous, public sector, or not‑for‑profit organization. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organizational leadership, financial management, and human resource management. Proven experience working with Boards of Directors, Chiefs and Councils, or other governance bodies. Experience overseeing complex budgets, audits, funding agreements, and government reporting requirements. Strong knowledge of First Nations governance, programs, funding structures, and intergovernmental relations is considered a strong asset. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills. Fluency in Cree, Dene, and/or Dakota is considered an asset. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and the ability to travel as required. A satisfactory Criminal Enhanced Record Check (CPIC) must be submitted with the application.
