Job Title: Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS) Engineer Job Description This role focuses on designing and developing electrical wiring harnesses and interconnect systems (EWIS) for advanced autonomous and maritime platforms. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from initial design through integration, testing, and documentation, while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams. Responsibilities + Design and develop wiring harnesses and electrical interconnect systems (EWIS) for autonomous and maritime platforms. + Create, update, and maintain detailed electrical schematics and harness designs using CAD tools such as Zuken E3, EPLAN, or similar software. + Support system integration of electrical components, ensuring proper routing, connectivity, and functionality of wiring harnesses. + Participate actively in design reviews, providing technical input and feedback throughout the project lifecycle. + Manage, control, and update design documentation within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill. + Assist with prototype builds, including the assembly and installation of wiring harnesses and electrical systems. + Support testing and validation activities for electrical systems and wiring harnesses, identifying issues and contributing to corrective actions. + Troubleshoot electrical and wiring harness issues during integration and testing, working closely with other engineers to resolve problems. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements. + Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and best practices for EWIS and harness integration. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of experience working with wiring harnesses, electrical interconnect systems, or similar electrical systems. + Hands-on experience with harness design and integration in complex systems. + Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as Zuken E3, EPLAN, or comparable software for schematics and harness design. + Experience supporting system integration of electrical components, including routing, connectivity, and functional verification. + Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill for managing design data and documentation. + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred; candidates with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering will also be considered. + Ability to assist with prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and wiring harnesses. + Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation. + Effective communication skills and the ability to contribute constructively in design reviews and cross-functional discussions. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Industry experience in automotive, maritime, aerospace, or defense environments. + Experience working with advanced or innovative platforms such as electric vehicles or autonomous systems. + Experience working within fast-paced, growth-oriented engineering organizations. + Interest in long-term career growth within a company that offers stock incentives upon conversion to direct employment. + Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Work Environment This role is fully onsite in Austin with no remote or hybrid options, providing close collaboration with engineering and integration teams. You may occasionally travel to a site in the Los Angeles area in the future, depending on project needs. The environment is fast-paced and growth-oriented, focused on innovative autonomous and maritime platforms. You will work daily with modern electrical CAD tools and PLM systems such as Zuken E3, EPLAN, Teamcenter, and Windchill, as well as hands-on prototype and integration activities in a lab or workshop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
