We are recruiting an Estimating & Sales Associate to join a well-established building materials supplier serving Teulon and the surrounding market.
This is a detail-driven, relationship-focused role working closely with contractors and homeowners to support projects from initial plan review through to material delivery. You will play a key role in interpreting blueprints, completing material takeoffs, and ensuring accurate, reliable project estimates.
The business operates as a full-service building center, supplying a wide range of materials from structural through to finishing products, and has built a strong reputation through service, accuracy, and long-term customer relationships.

The Opportunity
This role is designed for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, project-based environment, where accuracy, problem-solving, and customer service are equally important.
You will work directly with contractors and retail customers, reviewing plans, preparing estimates, and supporting projects throughout their lifecycle. Success in this role comes from precision, reliability, and the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
Key elements include:
Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings
Completing detailed material takeoffs across multiple product categories
Preparing accurate and competitive project estimates
Supporting projects from initial quote through to delivery coordination
Working closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure seamless execution
Balancing estimating responsibilities with customer-facing sales support
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Project Support
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
Complete material takeoffs for residential and light commercial builds
Prepare detailed estimates across framing, roofing, siding, insulation, drywall, and finishing products
Identify potential issues, discrepancies, or opportunities within project plans
Ensure estimates align with company costing policies and building code requirements
Coordinate material staging and delivery timelines with customers and internal teams
Research product specifications, pricing, and availability
Sales & Customer Service
Support contractors and retail customers with product selection and project needs
Prepare and manage special orders, including quoting, deposits, and follow-up
Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers and contractors
Resolve customer inquiries and issues in a professional manner
Provide hands-on support on the retail floor as needed
Operations & Collaboration
Process transactions through POS systems accurately
Support inventory, displays, and order staging as required
Collaborate with yard staff, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Participate in product training, supplier coordination, and team initiatives
Ideal Profile
Experience in estimating, contractor sales, or building materials supply
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers and specifications
Knowledge of building materials across multiple categories (or strong ability to learn)
Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Comfortable using estimating software, POS systems, and general computer tools
Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving approach
This role is particularly well suited to someone from a contractor, inside sales, or estimating background who enjoys being hands-on with projects while building long-term customer relationships.
