A well-established Calgary-based law firm is seeking an experienced litigator (5+ years call) to join its estate litigation practice.
The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity to join a collegial and respected team handling a range of estate litigation matters, including contested disputes. The role offers meaningful courtroom exposure, autonomy over files, and the ability to work within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage estate litigation files from inception through resolution
Represent clients in contested proceedings and court appearances
Draft pleadings, applications, and other litigation materials
Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
Provide strategic, client-focused legal advice
Collaborate with colleagues while maintaining independent file carriage
Qualifications
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligible for immediate admission)
Minimum of 5+ years' post-call experience in estate litigation
Demonstrated courtroom advocacy experience and comfort with contested matters
Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
Proven ability to independently manage files in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
Professional, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
