The Environmental Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring environmental management programs to ensure compliance with Mars environmental standards, Kazakhstan environmental legislation, and ISO 14001 requirements. The role supports sustainable operations, minimizes environmental impacts, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes environmental awareness and continuous improvement across the site. What will be your key responsibilities? Support implementation and maintenance of the site's Environmental Management System (EMS). Ensure compliance with Kazakhstan environmental legislation, permits, licenses, and corporate environmental requirements. Support maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 management systems. Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance assessments across all plant operations. Coordinate environmental risk assessments and identify opportunities to reduce environmental impacts. Monitor environmental performance indicators including: Waste generation and recycling, Water consumption, Energy consumption, Air emissions, Wastewater discharge, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Manage waste handling, segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal activities in accordance with legal and corporate requirements. Ensure proper management of hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Support implementation of environmental sustainability programs and resource efficiency initiatives. Coordinate environmental monitoring programs, sampling activities, laboratory testing, and compliance reporting. Investigate environmental incidents, spills, non-conformances, complaints, and permit exceedances. Develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of environmental events. Prepare and maintain environmental permits, records, registers, reporting packages, and compliance documentation. Organize environmental awareness campaigns and deliver environmental training programs. Manage environmental aspects and impacts assessments for new projects, equipment modifications, and operational changes. Support implementation of water stewardship, waste minimization, energy reduction, and carbon reduction initiatives. Coordinate interactions with environmental authorities, external auditors, consultants, and certification bodies. Provide environmental support during capital projects, construction activities, commissioning, and contractor management. Ensure contractors comply with site environmental requirements and permit conditions. What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety & Environment, or related field. Environmental Auditor qualification or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred. Professional environmental certifications are considered an advantage. Fluent in Kazakh and Russian languages. Good command of English (Intermediate or above). Minimum 3–5 years of Environmental experience in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, or construction environments. Strong knowledge of Kazakhstan environmental legislation and permitting requirements. Practical experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. Knowledge of waste management, hazardous waste handling, environmental monitoring, and pollution prevention programs.
