Environmental Engineer We are seeking resumes for a full-time Environmental Engineer. The primary responsibilities for this role include: Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory expectations across assigned environmental programs.
Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, reporting requirements, and corporate standards.
Manage environmental programs, procedures, records, audits, inspections, and agency reporting for areas such as air, wastewater treatment, land application, and chemical management.
Evaluate mill systems, process changes, capital projects, and new equipment installations to ensure environmental requirements are addressed and compliance risks are mitigated.
Identify environmental issues, develop corrective actions, troubleshoot problems, and follow through with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Support environmental training, compliance procedures, project planning, and continuous improvement efforts that reduce risk, improve performance, and support mill objectives.
Additional duties as assigned by management. Basic Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, environmental, civil engineering or related fields
0-4 years of experience in process engineering or environmental engineering
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must have valid driver’s license
Experience using Auto Cad, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project Preferred: Knowledge of pulp & paper industry, wastewater treatment and recovery operations
Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems
Experience in related fields or co-op/internships in paper industry
Public relations with people outside of the company

Excellent people and process management skills. * Currently a member of the paper foundation at the following schools: Auburn University, Georgia Tech University, University of Maine, Miami University (Ohio), University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, NC State University, SUNY ESF, University of Washington – Seattle, Western Michigan University, University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, or currently enrolled at any State University or Technological University in the following states: AL, FL, GA, IL, ID, LA, MI, MN, MS, NC, ND, OH, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI.
