what is the opportunity
The RAMPP Trade Flow applications depend on reliable job scheduling and batch processing to manage
critical overnight processing data flows and system maintenance As an Environment Support Specialist
at RBC Capital Markets you will ensure the operational stability and optimization of our batch scheduling
infrastructure supporting the most timesensitive functions across our most profitable business lines
What Will You Do
Monitor troubleshoot and resolve ControlM scheduling issues in development testing and
production environments
Support the deployment and management of batch jobs workflows and automated scheduling
processes
Write and maintain Linux shell scripts for job automation data processing and system
administration
Perform database administration tasks including query optimization performance tuning and
data validation
Coordinate with development and operations teams to resolve production incidents and
implement fixes
Provide second and thirdlevel support for batch job failures and system performance degradation
Document issues resolutions and best practices to improve system reliability
Participate in capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives
Help teams understand and troubleshoot ControlM job dependencies failure scenarios and
logging
Assist with ControlM promotion rules
Maintain communication with stakeholders during production incidents and keep status updated
throughout resolution
What Do You Need To Succeed
Must have
Proven experience managing and supporting ControlM job scheduling environments
Strong Linux shell scripting skills with demonstrated ability to write complex automation scripts
Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL including query writing and performance
analysis
Experience troubleshooting batch processing issues and system integrations
Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail in a highpressure environment
Ability to work independently and effectively while collaborating with development and operations
teams
Deadlinedriven and resultsoriented able to handle multiple support requests and incidents
simultaneously
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to document issues clearly and explain technical
concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
Nicetohave
Experience supporting Murex systems and related trading applications
Familiarity with machine learning operations or AIML pipeline automation
Experience with version control systems and scripting automation frameworks
Knowledge of containerization or cloud infrastructure
Experience in a capital markets or financial services environment
