Currently, our Information Technology division is currently hiring an Enterprise Architect position specializing in Cloud Computing. Bruce Power is advancing cloud adoption and modernization, and we are evolving a risk‑informed enterprise security architecture to support this work. We embed security into cloud, application, and platform architecture so solutions meet business objectives while maintaining strong security, resilience, and compliance. The Enterprise Cloud Architect role provides a bridge between long‑term business goals and the sustainable evolution of the organization’s technology landscape. Working with business and IT stakeholders to understand challenges and objectives, the role applies enterprise and cloud architecture expertise to define target‑state architectures, standards, and technology roadmaps. The Enterprise Cloud Architect also researches industry trends, operating costs, and emerging technologies to inform technology investments that deliver long‑term value while maintaining architectural integrity, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities Work closely with line of business stakeholders to understand and model business strategy, identify capability needs and new opportunities to inform outcome-driven technology investments Develop technology strategies and roadmaps to support desired business outcomes and sustainably manage the landscape of technology solutions Research and develop emerging technology viewpoints and industry trends for applicability to Bruce Power Collaborate with other architects and technical leaders to define architectural standards and patterns Develop architecture governance framework and processes ensuring adherence to established standards Act as a mentor and subject matter expert for internal IT staff in development of solution architecture and design Maintain and recommend changes to IT Security Guidance standards to accommodate new patterns, opportunities and assess applicability to development of solution architecture Provide strategic planning and oversight for short, medium and long-term projects, managing and optimizing the flow of value through the various IT Portfolios and identify relationship of investments to assessed capability criticality and maturity Facilitate PI Planning readiness by creating awareness of business priorities and connecting with investment opportunities Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings at the Program Level and the value stream syncfor Product Teams Assist with economic decision-making by supporting feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics Help manage risks and dependencies, escalating and tracking impediments Encourage collaboration between teams and Solution Architects, ensuring that IT solutions align to defined business strategies and meet long term objectives. Work with Portofolio Leads, Product Leads, Product Owners, and otherstakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment Maintain overall accountability for architectural quality of IT initiatives, ensuring all architecture and design meets business needs, aligns with strategic objectives and satisfies appropriate IT and/or Cyber security requirements Knowledge and Skills (Nice to have): Broad understanding of technology concepts, with the ability to think analytically and interpret abstract ideas. Hands-on experience or familiarity with cloud architecture, particularly within Azure environments (IaaS, PaaS, networking, governance, and security controls), is considered an asset. Exposure to Microsoft 365 tenant and service architecture (e.g., Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), including modern endpoint management, Intune, and identity-driven security models, would be beneficial. Knowledge of Microsoft Entra and identity and access management principles—such as identity governance, access reviews, privileged access, and conditional access—is a strong asset. Familiarity with Zero Trust and secure access architectures (e.g., SSE, cloud-delivered access platforms like Cisco Secure Access, SD-WAN integration, VPN-as-a-Service, Secure Web Gateway, Umbrella DNS) would be advantageous. Understanding of software development lifecycle frameworks and DevOps practices, including agile and iterative delivery methodologies, is considered beneficial. Experience or exposure to cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including application modernization and DevOps-aligned delivery, would be a plus. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is an asset. Experience contributing to strategic roadmaps or supporting prioritization across multiple stakeholders would be considered valuable. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders, is beneficial. Ability to influence, support change initiatives, and work effectively across different levels of the organization is an asset. Exposure to Lean Portfolio Management practices at the program or portfolio level would be considered an advantage. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences, are highly valued. Ability to communicate complex or technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences is a key strength. A creative, detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and day-to-day priorities, is considered beneficial. Education This knowledge is normally considered to be gained through successful completion of a four (4) Year University degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering; or Commerce/Business discipline. Knowledge and understanding of technology and abstract concepts and ability to analyze Experience with software development Solid conceptual understanding of technology components, DevOps tools and practices Strong knowledge of one or more standard formal Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman) Experience 8 years up to and including 10 years of IT Leadership, Consulting or Solution Delivery experience, including 2 plus years of Solution or Security Architecture specific experience Proven experience in building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including senior level executive sponsors Experience in defining strategic roadmaps and establishing priorities across competing needs of multiple stakeholders Ability to influence leaders, drive change and transformation while working across all levels of the organization Hands on experience with software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development Experience with Lean Portfolio Management facilitation at the program, portfolio and executive-level Excellent analytic, interpersonal and communication skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support Ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts and technical information to both non-technical and technical staff Must be creative, detail oriented and capable of balancing the big picture with meeting day-to-day organization needs.
