Description Position # : 9011581 Expected Start Date: June 05, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre City/Town: Eastend Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.67 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Number of Hours per Rotation: 300.16 hours per 12 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: EMS Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Current Basic Life Support-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(BLS-CPR) certification Competencies Demonstrates responsible decision-making ability through the application of critical thinking Listening skills Written Communication Skills Verbal communication skills Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to be resilient Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity Ability to exhibit situational awareness Decision making through the application of clinical, legal & ethical practice Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
