What You Need to Apply + Age: Must be at least 18 years old + Education: High school diploma or GED required + Driver's License: Valid driver's license required + Role includes operating a UPMC vehicle; MVR check required (violations within 36 months may impact eligibility) + Program Enrollment: Must pass the FISDAP entrance exam and enroll in: + Pennsylvania College of Technology, or + Northern Pennsylvania Regional College _(Refer to school websites for full requirements.)_ + Certifications (Post-Training): + National Registry EMT Certification + PA EMT Certification with EMSVO endorsement + CPR/BLS, EVDT, PHTLS, Hazmat Awareness, NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800 + Clearances: Act 33, Act 34, and FBI Act 73 (with renewal).
