Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Training and/or experience in elementary literacy and numeracy instruction, with a focus on strong foundational learning and student success
Knowledge of and experience implementing inclusive practices, differentiated instruction, and responsive supports to meet the diverse learning, behavioural, social-emotional, and academic needs of students
The ability to create welcoming, culturally responsive, and student-centred learning environments where all students feel valued, supported, and included
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a highly supportive school team, including collaboration with educational assistants, student support staff, and families
A commitment to supporting students with diverse needs and fostering positive relationships that promote student well-being, belonging, and success
The ability to create engaging learning environments that support academic growth and student well-being
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
