EIPS is recruiting 2 full-time Complexity Teachers to commence August 27, 2026
One (1) working out of Davidson Creek Elementary with complexity students
One (1)
working out of SouthPointe School
with complexity students
PLEASE NOTE:
These teaching assignments are not assigned their own classroom but are each assigned the support of two designated Education Assistants.

These newly created positions, supported by Alberta Government classroom complexity funding, provide enhanced resources and stability for both students and teachers in high-needs environments
through targeted interventions and skill development for students who require additional support. The successful candidate will collaborate with school administration, classroom teachers and support staff to strengthen foundational academic, regulation, and learning readiness skills that contribute to long-term student success.
Core responsibilities:
Provide in class support for diverse student needs
Support a push-in and/or pull-out model
Flexes between student support and in class support
Provides real time, responsive 1:1 support for urgent behavioural, academic, mental-health needs or safety interventions
Individual and small group programming
Assisting students with regulation, organization, attention and readiness for learning
Responsible for school level reporting and documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
