What you'll be doing
We are seeking a full-time Electronics Tech to join our team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor in our Fish Tracking division, the Electronics Tech must have a strong problem-solving aptitude and work well within a team environment. The Electronics Tech will build product and support production staff as they assemble and test Innovasea products used in fish tracking applications.
What you'll be doing
Provide hands on technical support in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment
Quickly repair jigs and fixtures
Work with the Technical Writer to develop and review Production manuals and SOPs
Support the build and test of electronic products, cables, and assemblies
Troubleshoot PCBs with unexpected behaviour
Help develop and validate new processes
Review orders prior to shipping
Assist with pressure testing
Assist with inspection of PCBs, machined parts, and other assemblies
Assist with single-piece part flow manufacturing
Identify areas for improvement. This could include cost reductions, capacity increases, 5S/organization, quality improvements, inventory reduction etc.
Other duties as assigned to ensure Production targets are met
Work with our Production Engineering group to help move new products into production
Follow best practices and ensure that safety is built into our standard operating procedures and equipment
Assist with the investigation and resolution of production issues involving parts, processes, and equipment, including but not limited to:
Collection and analysis of production data
Investigation of production articles through measurement, calculation, and observational analysis
Perform root cause analysis on non-conforming product
New product/process trials and qualifications
Use JIRA and Confluence to document
Work with Production Engineering to bring new equipment online
Assist with QA testing programs
Initiate continuous improvement projects and process changes
Participate in professional development programs, obtain/maintain relevant certifications
What Were Looking For
Experience in electronic manufacturing or electronic design
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be an effective communicator and have strong writing skills
Strong soldering ability with surface mount components
Reading and understanding electronics schematics
Following company information security policies is a required part of this role
A diploma (or equivalent) for Electronics Technician or Electronics Engineering Technology is required
