Job Description
We are seeking a skilled electrician to join our team in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, examining, and repairing electrical systems and components, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires interpreting complex blueprints and schematics, troubleshooting equipment using advanced software, and contributing to process improvements.
Responsibilities
Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout for industrial electrical equipment installations.
Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
Evaluate and improve processes for uptime and repeatability.
Analyze downtime situations for root cause and identify potential risks to similar processes.
Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain records to identify design weaknesses.
Assist in developing and updating preventive maintenance procedures.
Monitor and ensure achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (Safety, Quality, Productivity).
Troubleshoot safety devices and equipment using software with encoder feedback.
Maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and related devices.
Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors during installation, setup, and repair of machinery.
Contribute to safety by following safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
Essential Skills
Industrial electrical skills including PLC troubleshooting and programming.
Electrical Certificate of Qualification (309A / 442A).
Minimum 2 years' experience as an Industrial Electrician.
Familiarity with SLC500, PLC 5, Micro Logix’s, Control Logix’s, FT View SE and ME, Power Flex VFD Drives, and Process Control.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience within a copper manufacturing plant.
Working at heights.
Experience with aerial lift platforms.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a manufacturing plant where copper is melted, poured, and formed. Large overhead cranes are frequently in operation, which can be intimidating for some individuals. The facility experiences high temperatures in the summer, reaching up to 30°reeC, although personal air conditioners are provided at most stations. The culture is hard-working with many long-term employees alongside new recruits. Steel-toed boots are required, and uniforms are provided. Shifts rotate every two weeks between day, afternoon, and night shifts.
