Focus will mainly be for construction with limited commissioning and maintenance required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily electrical work activities for the crew to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate journeyman electricians and apprentices; assign tasks based on skill level and project needs
Serve as primary point of contact between the crew and project management; attend foreman meetings and report on progress, issues, and resource needs
Interpret and communicate drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to crew members to ensure correct layout and installation of industrial electrical equipment
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
Conduct and lead daily tailgate/toolbox meetings; develop, review, and approve hazard assessments and safe work plans
Monitor worksite for unsafe conditions or behaviors; enforce site safety policies and stop work when necessary
Oversee installation of conduit, feeders, cable tray, junction boxes, switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, and other electrical components
Oversee installation and testing of switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
Oversee gland and termination of cables in panels, junction boxes, and electrical equipment
Oversee installation of SR and MI EHT on piping as per isometric drawings
Oversee installation, maintenance, and calibration of industrial instrumentation and related devices
Track material and tool inventory; coordinate procurement and staging of equipment and materials with the project team
Inspect incoming materials and equipment for compliance with specifications
Complete daily field reports, timesheets, and other project documentation accurately and on time
Review blueprints and plans and communicate scope changes or technical issues to project management
May be required to operate light equipment and vehicles
REQUIRED SKILLS
Valid Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certificate (trade credential must be recognized in Alberta)
Minimum 2–3 years of field leadership or foreman experience in industrial electrical construction
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a crew of journeymen and apprentices
Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
Excellent communication skills; able to convey technical information clearly to crew and management
Practical problem-solving ability; able to interpret and act on instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
High degree of attention to detail to prevent injury to self and others
Proficient in completing field documentation including hazard assessments, daily reports, and timesheets
WORKING CONDITIONS
Rotations: 14/7 (shift cycle is subject to change)
Day shift (night shift may be required based on client needs)
Travel is required
Flights offered from Calgary or Edmonton
Camp accommodations provided
Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team
Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
