Job DescriptionJob Description Job Description Our client is a Calgary-based system integrator, operating since 2012, specializing in industrial automation, OT networking, controls, electrical, and instrumentation for Western Canadian markets. Their offerings span design, engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and support services. They serve major energy, midstream, and Gas-sector clients by delivering turnkey, vendor-agnostic solutions with a strong field engineering presence The electrical designer will be responsible for the detailed design and drafting of a variety of electrical systems, largely in but not limited to, industrial scopes for the Oil and Gas Sector. Candidates ideally have gas processing facilities and compressors exposure — working with modular electrical buildings, power distribution, and electrification for instrumentation on gas processing and pipeline infrastructure across Western Canada Essential Skills AutoCad Bluebeam Evaluating and specifying electrical and controls equipment Preparing engineering and construction estimates and proposals Creating and revising various types of drawings and document: such as electrical equipment lists, electrical load lists, I/O lists, plot plans, area classification drawings, single line diagrams, motor control schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, panel schedules, equipment layouts, PLC control panel layouts, I/O schematics, junction box wiring diagrams, electric heat trace isometrics, etc. Preparing vendor requests for quotation documents Travelling to client facilities/sites when required Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Modular Electrical Building design 3D modeling in AutoCAD Engineering Design Technologist certification (ASET) PLC control systems and panel layouts experience Cost estimation and RFI/Construction support experience Experience supervising or mentoring junior designers Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.
