1-year, full-time | Day shift M–F + on-call rotation
Pay:
$55/hr EIT · $65/hr P.Eng · $50/hr C.E.T. · +$4/hr night premium on on-call response

The Role
Controls authority on a 24/7 automated manufacturing line in a Canadian GMP clean room facility. You own everything behind the HMI — PLC logic, electrical systems, robotics, vision, drives, safety circuits. The operators run the touchscreen; you make sure what's behind it runs correctly and safely. Partner with the Mechanical Service Engineer; lead controls scope on capex and process changes.
What You'll Do
PLC programming, debugging, and modification across all critical platforms in use
HMI development — alarms, operator interface improvements, workflow tuning
Troubleshoot and improve robotic cells, vision systems, servo/VFD drives, safety circuits
Lead electrical maintenance — panel work, wiring, motor controls, instrumentation
Maintain and validate safety door interlocks, e-stops, light curtains (Cat 3/4 safety)
Specify and commission electrical/controls scope on capex and process changes
Maintain controls documentation, backups, version control to GMP standard
Mentor operators on controls awareness
On-call for controls incidents
Required — one of
P.Eng or EIT, Electrical or Mechatronics, registered with PEO or eligible, OR
Licensed Electrical Engineering Technologist (C.E.T. with OACETT) with strong automation depth
Plus all of
5+ years industrial controls experience on automated production
Deep PLC programming — not just exposure
Robotics integration, vision systems, electrical schematics, Cat 3/4 safety architecture
Comfortable performing work inside a GMP clean room (gowning required)
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to Have
Industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT). SCADA / data historian. GMP/regulated-industry experience.
