EHS Coordinator – Ontario
We are seeking an experienced EHS Coordinator to provide hands-on health and safety support across Ontario operations. This field-based role is ideal for a safety professional with construction or heavy-industry experience and a strong background in traffic control requirements.
You will conduct regular site visits, inspections, investigations, hazard assessments, and safety coaching to help maintain safe, compliant worksites. You will ensure alignment with Ontario health and safety legislation, Construction Regulations, WSIB requirements, COR standards, and Book 7 traffic control requirements. Responsibilities also include maintaining online compliance records, supporting incident investigations and root-cause analysis, managing COR audit activities, monitoring safety trends, and developing proactive risk-reduction strategies.
The successful candidate will build effective relationships with field teams, leadership, union partners, and regulatory representatives. Occasional travel to other branches may be required.
Qualifications:
5–10 years of progressive health and safety experience in construction or heavy industry
Traffic control experience and strong knowledge of Ontario Book 7 standards required
OHS diploma or certificate required
Valid Ontario JHSC Certification, Parts 1 and 2
Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Construction Regulations
Experience with COR Ontario requirements; COR Auditor certification is an asset
Experience in unionized construction environments; LiUNA experience preferred
Knowledge of WSIB reporting and return-to-work practices
Strong investigation, training, communication, organization, and digital safety-system skills
