Kelly is hiring! We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities, communicating with drivers and mobile units, and ensuring the efficient movement of freight. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and is able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. Please note: this a contract position for one year, with the possibility of an extension or conversion. The schedule for this role is rotational 5pm-5am for 2 weeks, 5am-5pm for 2 weeks. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming calls and communicate with drivers and mobile units to coordinate daily operations. Print, organize, and manage freight and shipping documentation. Monitor routes, vehicle locations, and operational updates using phone, radio, and dispatch systems. Update dispatch logs and accurately record call and shipment information. Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, equipment, and work crews to appropriate locations. Arrange transportation, shipments, and deliveries to meet customer and operational requirements. Utilize mapping and routing software to identify efficient travel routes and respond to changing conditions. Relay important information and messages between drivers, supervisors, customers, and other personnel. Monitor delivery progress and proactively address scheduling or routing issues. Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, deliveries, and communications. Provide timely support to drivers by responding to questions and resolving operational concerns. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and transportation regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, customer service, or administrative experience is an asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with dispatch, GPS, or transportation management software is considered an asset. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
