Job Description
CIMA+’s Transportation team has a reputation for excellence in the transportation sector, having successfully delivered thousands of projects over the past 30 years. Our engineers can lead any type of project, regardless of its complexity and scale. The team draws on diverse experience in planning, design, inspection, construction management, and infrastructure reconstruction in both rural and urban environments.
As the Director of Railway Engineering – Western Canada you will be instrumental in the expansion of our Railway Engineering services across Western Canada, and will be responsible for growing, expanding and engaging a Railway Team in the region. You will also be involved in the various stages of designing, managing and implementing projects for our customers, such as CN, CP, Rio Tinto, Transport Canada and EXO.
We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Job Responsibilities
Effectively manage the current team in delivery of ongoing mandates and work collaboratively and efficiently with the other CIMA+ Railway teams.
Engage with other CIMA+ business lines to identify and pursue multidisciplinary opportunities including mining, ports and marine, green transition, EV, transit, and other disciplines.
Identify and lead strategic development initiatives with a Railway focus on Western Canada for local and regional clients and objectives.
Provide thought leadership, regulatory oversight and mentorship to the developing team and continue effective growth strategies.
Supervise work performed by the team, including quality control, collaboration with CIMA+ railway teams and technical project delivery.
Qualifications
Graduate of a recognized Civil Engineering program with 10+ years of exposure and experience in the railway engineering and construction industry.
Professional Engineer registered or eligible to be registered in your home province and eligible for Inter-Association Mobility registration in the adjacent Western Canada provinces.
Demonstrated strong understanding of the local market including future influences and trends, with a focus on railways and industrial clients.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in personnel and performance management, decision making, client and change management, employee development, and team building.
Knowledge of railway standards, requirements and technical design parameters is a requirement.
