Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country, delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors’ apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.
Role Overview
The Director, Project Management Office plays a critical leadership role in advancing enterprise-wide strategic initiatives by supporting the Head of PMO and partnering closely with executive sponsors. This role is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of complex, interdependent projects, ensuring alignment to organizational priorities, and enabling successful execution through strong governance, planning oversight, and cross-functional coordination.
Operating at both a strategic and operational level, the Director, Project Management Office provides structure, clarity, and insight across multiple transformation initiatives while supporting two Managers within the PMO function. This role focuses on integration, risk identification, and organizational readiness rather than day-to-day project execution.
Key Accountabilities
Enterprise Program & Portfolio Oversight
• Lead the development and ongoing management of an enterprise transformation roadmap, aligning initiatives to strategic priorities and operational readiness goals
• Oversee a portfolio of major initiatives, including:
o Finch II operational readiness and activation
o Enterprise scheduling system implementation
o Procure-to-Pay automation and financial transformation
o Transition to paper-light and paperless documentation
o New operating model and organizational alignment
o Dementia care model implementation
o Broader digital and operational transformation initiatives
• Ensure alignment, sequencing, and integration across all initiatives
Governance, Risk & Integration
• Identify interdependencies, risks, and pressure points across initiatives and proactively escalate issues
• Establish and maintain strong governance frameworks, including executive reporting, dashboards, and decision-making structures
• Provide clear, concise insights to support Executive Team and Board-level discussions
• Monitor progress across projects to ensure consistency, accountability, and delivery against timelines
Leadership & Team Oversight
• Provide direction and support to two Managers within the PMO, ensuring consistency in project planning, reporting, and execution standards
• Identify gaps in capability, resourcing, and processes across the PMO function and recommend improvements
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
Executive & Stakeholder Partnership
• Act as a key liaison between the PMO and Executive Sponsors, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and outcomes
• Support leaders in translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and deliverables
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across HR, Operations, Clinical, Finance, and IT
Planning & Execution Oversight
• Oversee the development and maintenance of integrated project plans, ensuring alignment across initiatives
• Ensure project teams are equipped with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables
• Provide oversight and guidance without necessarily owning full execution of all initiatives
Change Management & Organizational Readiness
• Support enterprise-wide change management and readiness strategies
• Identify organizational impacts and ensure appropriate supports are in place for adoption
• Partner with leaders to drive engagement, communication, and sustained change adoption
Strategic Insight & Decision Support
• Translate complex, multi-layered initiatives into clear, actionable insights for leadership
• Provide data-driven recommendations to inform prioritization and resource allocation
• Continuously assess portfolio health and recommend adjustments as needed
Qualifications & Experience
• 8–12+ years of experience in project/program management, transformation, or strategic initiatives
• Experience operating in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment (healthcare/LTC preferred)
• Proven ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional programs
• Strong experience with executive reporting, governance, and risk management
• Demonstrated experience leading or supporting PMO functions or transformation offices
• Exceptional ability to influence without direct authority
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
