The Opportunity RVS invites applications for the Director of Talent position at the Education Centre in Airdrie, Alberta. The start date of this position will commence at a time to be determined, as early as July 2026. Reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, the Director of Talent is a key member of both the RVS and Human Resources leadership teams. The incumbent plays a crucial role in developing and implementing talent strategies and programs in alignment with RVS' strategic plan. The Director of Talent supervises, coordinates, and assists with the efficient delivery of all recruitment and talent services within the HR department. Responsibilities Develops and supports organizational strategies by establishing talent goals that match organizational needs and goals, and the RVS Strategic Plan. Supports the coordination of work, supervision and professional learning within the HR department, specifically overseeing the recruitment and talent team. Continuously evaluates and improves talent functions, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and identifies opportunities for continual improvement Oversees substitute teacher and Learning Assistant recruitment, facilitation, and coordination Develops guidelines, protocols and programs to support recruitment, staffing and workforce strategies, and promotes talent-related best practices throughout RVS Leads RVS external recruitment strategies, including growing and strengthening relationships with post-secondary institutions, representing RVS at career fairs, and leading recruitment-related marketing initiatives. Provides direction and support on workforce development strategies, including retention and ongoing recruitment to support RVS' rapid growth Informs and advises the Associate Superintendent, HR on recruitment and talent-related matters and best practices Initiates and leads HR practices and objectives that will ensure the high-level functioning of a proactive and responsive HR department, including an ongoing review of HR metrics, workflow, guidelines, processes. Ensures accurate talent and recruitment data is continually gathered, analyzed, and provided to appropriate stakeholders. Provides data-informed recommendations. Designs and provides professional learning opportunities for department employees. Documents processes including building guides and tools to help others utilize and support departmental resources Actively establishes plans to build capacity of employees within the department, to share knowledge and reduce risk. Supports ongoing review and implementation (as required) of HR Management Systems (HRMS) modules. Ensures compliance within the Division under provincial and federal ( where applicable) employment-related legislation and/or Board Policy and/or Administrative Procedures.
