Position Overview
:
The Director of Recruitment leads the Martin Recruitment team and carries their own desk. The role combines hands-on full cycle recruitment on senior and confidential searches with responsibility for training and developing recruiters, overseeing every active search, and ensuring each one is delivered to standard and on time. Reporting directly to the President, this is the senior recruitment authority in the business.
Responsibilities
:
Search Delivery
Assign searches to recruiters based on skill, urgency, and workload.
Ensure job orders are qualified properly, and run job order intake meetings as needed.
Assist with setting candidate submittal dates, and hold the team accountable for delivery.
Assist with the creation of market maps, sourcing strategies, and headhunting strategies.
Regularly review active searches to enforce process adherence and quality standards.
Step in and personally assist on searches that fall behind schedule.
Recruitment
Personally manage senior and confidential searches.
Headhunt passive candidates through direct outreach.
Build market maps and sourcing strategies for assigned searches.
Diligently screen candidates against client job order criteria.
Present candidates to clients and manage interview feedback.
Team Oversight
Hire and onboard new recruiters as the business continues to grow.
Train recruiters on Martin Recruitment’s full cycle recruitment process.
Hold weekly one on one meetings with individual recruiters.
Conduct quality control checks on recorded calls and interviews.
Set individual targets and review performance against them.
Address underperformance directly and document it.
Recruitment Strategy
Own the recruitment methodology used across the firm and keep it updated with best practices and strategies.
Monitor candidate market conditions and adjust the firm's approach accordingly.
Identify where the process loses time or quality, and lead change management efforts.
Test new sourcing channels and techniques before rolling them out to the team.
Benchmark delivery performance against industry standards and competitors.
Process and Reporting
Keep internal ATS accurate and current as the system of record.
Ensure candidate notes are recorded in Loxo after every call and interview.
Ensure job order information in Loxo is complete and kept up to date.
Enforce accurate pipeline stages so reporting reflects real activity.
Audit ATS data quality across the team on a regular basis.
Maintain the recruitment process documentation and templates.
Report to the President weekly on pipeline and delivery metrics.
Raise capacity or quality problems before they reach a client.
Must Have Qualifications
:
5+ years of agency recruitment experience.
Full-cycle recruitment and headhunting experience for senior or specialized roles.
Top performer with a proven track record of strong personal billings.
Experience training and mentoring recruiters.
Experience managing a high volume of concurrent searches.
Based in Edmonton.
