The Opportunity We’re looking for a Director, Marketing & Business Development to bring focus, structure, and execution to our front‑end efforts. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. You’ll partner closely with the VP, Brand & Business Development to translate direction into clear plans, aligned priorities, and consistent follow‑through ensuring the team is set up to deliver. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll contribute directly to the work while leading the team, not just setting direction, but helping move it forward. Our work is design‑led, relationship‑driven, and often complex. Success in this role requires someone who can bring clarity to that complexity, strengthening how the team operates, improving how work flows, and ensuring we are showing up in the market with intention and consistency. What You’ll Do Strategy into Execution Translate high‑level direction into clear, actionable plans across Marketing and Business Development, including defined priorities, timelines, ownership, and expected outcomes Build and manage quarterly and monthly execution plans that align team efforts to company goals Establish clear workflows and operating rhythms that improve focus, reduce duplication, and increase follow‑through Bring structure to ambiguous work, ensuring ideas are translated into execution without losing momentum Market Presence & Growth Lead the planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, and educational events, including defining objectives, target audiences, and follow‑through Strengthen how Earthscape shows up in the market, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and engagement Support how opportunities are generated, qualified, and progressed in partnership with the broader Business Development team Ensure market insights, client feedback, and industry trends are consistently captured and used to inform decisions Team Leadership & Effectiveness Lead and support a team across Marketing and Business Development, creating clarity around roles, priorities, and expectations Improve how work flows across the team, removing bottlenecks and increasing overall efficiency and outputl Set and maintain a high standard for quality, responsiveness, and follow‑through Support the development of team members while ensuring strong day‑to‑day execution Execution Leadership Lead from the front on key initiatives, contributing directly to high‑impact deliverables including presentations, campaigns, messaging, and stakeholder engagement strategies Set the standard for execution ensuring work is clear, well‑structured, and delivered with consistency and quality Step in to unblock work, maintain momentum, and ensure priorities move forward when timelines or clarity are at risk Support the team in refining outputs so they reflect the quality, clarity, and intent of Earthscape’s brand Business Integration Ensure Marketing and Business Development efforts are fully aligned with operational capacity, project pipeline, and company priorities Strengthen how opportunities are handed off and transitioned, ensuring work is well‑positioned and set up for successful execution Build stronger connections between teams, improving how information flows and decisions are made Provide clear visibility into progress, risks, and trade‑offs to support leadership decision‑making Provide visibility into progress, risks, and trade‑offs to support decision‑making What We’re Looking For We care deeply about how you think, how you lead, and how you show up in complexity just as much as where you’ve worked. Experience in marketing, business development, or growth roles within a design‑led, project‑based, or relationship‑driven environment Proven ability to translate high‑level direction into execution and bring structure to ambiguous work Experience leading and developing teams while staying close to the work Strong organizational and operational thinking with an ability to build clarity and improve how work flows Comfort operating in a fast‑moving environment where not everything is fully defined Ability to manage effectively; communicating clearly, providing direct feedback, and articulating trade‑offs Strong communication and relationship‑building skills A mindset that aligns with Earthscape: humble, curious, collaborative, and accountable A Role With Real Impact This is a high‑impact leadership role.
