Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDirector of Business Development - CPG Ontario MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our beverage manufacturing client to recruit a Director of Business Development to drive growth across Canada and selected U.S. markets. This is a highly entrepreneurial role focused on opening doors, securing strategic partnerships, expanding distribution, and accelerating revenue growth across retail, grocery, convenience, foodservice, and distributor channels. This opportunity is ideal for a commercially aggressive business builder who thrives on creating opportunities where none previously existed. The successful candidate will bring a deep industry network, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to identify and close transformational growth opportunities. Some of what you will do: Identify, pursue, and secure new national and regional business opportunities across Canada and the United States Build and rebuild strategic relationships with distributors, retailers, brokers, and key decision-makers throughout the beverage and consumer products landscape Develop and execute growth strategies that expand distribution, accelerate revenue, and improve market penetration Lead customer acquisition efforts across grocery, convenience, foodservice, and alternative channels Negotiate commercial agreements and develop mutually beneficial partnerships that support long-term growth Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities Act as a senior ambassador for the business and brands within the marketplace Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support strategic decision making Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership teams to align growth opportunities with business capabilities Identify opportunities for product expansion, channel development, and geographic growth You should have the following: 7+ years of business development, sales leadership, or commercial growth experience within beverage, CPG grocery, convenience, and big box Demonstrated clear success opening new accounts and securing strategic partnerships Strong network of industry relationships across Canada; North American relationships are considered a significant asset Experience working with distributors, brokers, and major retail customers Proven hunter mentality with a history of exceeding growth objectives Strong commercial negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive results Experience building distribution networks and market expansion strategies Strong communication, presentation, and business planning capabilities Willingness to travel as required throughout Canada and the United States What's in it for you: Opportunity to join a growing and significant consumer products organization with ambitious expansion plans High-autonomy role with direct impact on company growth and market development Competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus opportunity, and long-term growth potential Flexible, remote work environment Opportunity to influence strategy, distribution, and commercial direction at a senior level Exposure to both Canadian and U.S. growth If this sounds like a role where you could excel, please apply.
