We are seeking a Director, New Business Development – Garage Doors to launch and scale an entirely new business vertical for NewAge: an innovative, patented garage door system. This is a builder's role. The garage door industry is structured around distributors, professional installers, and manufacturer relationships, and you will own the go-to-market strategy for this new product line from the ground up—building the channels, partnerships, and commercial model needed to bring a differentiated new product to market. This role reports directly to the President. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Build and execute the commercialization strategy for NewAge's new garage door product line, defining the optimal mix of product sales, channel partnerships, and licensing opportunities. Define and prioritize the channel strategy across direct sales, distributor and installer partnerships, manufacturer relationships, and retail. Own the category P&L, revenue forecasting, and pricing strategy across all commercial models. Develop the framework for structuring commercial and partnership agreements, including terms, commitments, and territory considerations. Lead partnership and licensing negotiations with established players in the garage door industry. Build NewAge's distributor and professional installer network for the garage door category from the ground up. Develop and convert a pipeline of distributor, installer, and partner leads into signed commercial agreements. Structure partnership terms that protect NewAge's intellectual property while accelerating market adoption and revenue. Partner with Product Development and Engineering to align the product roadmap with market demand, including defining SKU architecture and future product extensions. Guide product-market fit decisions on configurations, finishes, and features to maximize commercial reach. Implement effective pricing, promotional, and discounting strategies for optimal growth in each channel. IP & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with legal and engineering to protect and enforce NewAge's intellectual property and ensure commercial agreements are sound and enforceable. Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Product Development to align strategy and ensure launch readiness. Present strategy, pipeline, and performance to the President and executive leadership on a regular cadence. Performance Management Develop KPIs and reporting to measure category performance across direct sales, partnerships, and channel penetration. Monitor market trends, the competitive landscape, and the broader garage door replacement market to inform strategy. Build a forward-looking planning outlook and advocate for the structure, headcount, and investment needed to scale the category. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field. MBA a plus. 8+ years of experience in category management, business development, product management, or channel development. Ideally including the launch of a new product category or business line. Demonstrated experience building distributor, dealer, or professional installer channels—not solely retail/e-commerce category management. Proven ability to structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements (distribution, licensing, or OEM/partnership deals). Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to build and own a P&L for a new business. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with large partners and manufacturers. Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to influence and drive execution across functions without direct authority. Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI or similar. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Direct experience in the garage door, building products, fenestration, or adjacent construction/home improvement industry. Experience with technology licensing, IP commercialization, or royalty-based business models. Familiarity with the distributor/installer ecosystem and industry bodies (e.g., IDA). Knowledge of relevant product safety certifications (e.g., UL 325) and regulatory requirements for garage doors. Experience launching products into both trade/professional and retail channels. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This role will require travel up to 25% within Canada and the US, including trade shows, distributor/installer sites, and manufacturer partner meetings. NEWAGE OFFERS: Salary and bonus is based on experience and highly competitive for the right candidate. This is an existing vacancy and the base salary for this role is $130,000 – $190,000 CAD annually at the time of the posting. An opportunity within a growing, fast-paced company, well established in its industry. Fun! We celebrate successes and hold special events to build strong teams. Our teams work under a remote-first Hybrid model, with the ease of having our North York office accessible for collaboration and/or quiet workspace.
