The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated finance leader to join our team during an exciting period of growth and transformation.
Working closely with ownership, the Controller, and operational leaders, the Director, Finance & Operations will help strengthen the finance function through improved forecasting, project financial analysis, reporting, and business process improvements.
A key focus of this role will be supporting the implementation of our new ERP platform, improving financial visibility across the organization, and providing additional leadership capacity to support continued growth.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable partnering with operational leaders, improving systems and processes, supporting financial reporting, and helping drive business performance through meaningful financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Controller, ownership, and operations teams to strengthen financial reporting and business decision‑making.
Lead cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis activities.
Review project financial performance, job costing, work‑in‑progress reporting, and project profitability.
Support Project Managers with financial visibility, forecasting, and change order management.
Develop management reporting, KPI dashboards, and financial insights for leadership.
Play a key role in the implementation and optimization of our ERP platform.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Support audit, banking, insurance, bonding, and compliance requirements.
Mentor and support members of the finance team.
Partner with ownership and senior leadership on strategic initiatives and business improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
CPA designation.
8–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or other project‑based environments.
Strong understanding of:
Job costing
Project accounting
Work‑in‑progress reporting
Cash flow forecasting
Financial reporting
Budgeting and forecasting
ERP implementation or major systems conversion experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive organizational success with strong communication skills.
Advanced Excel, financial analysis, and reporting skills.
Preferred:
Experience with Jonas, Sage Intacct, ADP, Dynamics, or similar ERP platforms.
Experience supporting owners, executives, or senior operational leaders.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, project forecasting, and project profitability management.
