Director, Finance at Inuvialuit Regional Corporation — NeverHard

The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) is a uniquely positioned Indigenous organization dedicated to enhancing the economic, social, and cultural well-being of Inuvialuit beneficiaries through the implementation of the historic Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA). Established in 1984, IRC operates from its headquarters in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, and represents the collective interests of six Inuvialuit communities. With over 180 employees and a broad mandate spanning land stewardship, investment, economic development, health, education, and cultural preservation, IRC has become a key institution in the western Arctic. Reporting to the CFO, the Director, Finance is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls and cash flow management for a group of subsidiary organizations. Managing and developing a team of about 30 people in accounting, finance, and support roles, significant elements of this role are skills development and mentorship for staff members, including some Inuvialuit Beneficiaries, and capacity enhancement for the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of success over at least five years of financial management experience in a large and/or complex organization preferably in a dynamic, growing family-owned or privately-owned corporation with parallels to IRC. A Chartered Professional Accountant, ideally with a degree in Business Administration (MBA preferred), the successful candidate with have expertise in financial accounting, internal controls, financial planning and analysis, cash flow analysis, risk management, and/or timely financial and management reporting. A strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize work effectively and excellent communication skills will ensure success in this role.
