Director, AI Enablement Department: Corporate Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Calgary Head Office Reporting To: Matthew Lowe, CEO & Founder Compensation: CA$120,000 - CA$150,000 / year Description As the Director of AI Enablement, you will work with every department across the company to embed AI tools into how every team works, maximizing productivity, ROI, and output. You will play an integral role, from mapping each team's workflows and data to selecting and deploying the right tools, building the prompts, agents, and integrations that make them effective, and training the people who use them. The role requires a deep, hands-on understanding of current AI tools and prompt engineering, a broad understanding of corporate processes and data structures, and the credibility to change how people work without slowing them down. You are a practitioner, not a strategist-at-a-distance: you use these tools daily, you can show your work, and you measure success in hours saved and output shipped, not in tools deployed. Location and Work Model This role is based on-site at our Calgary headquarters and manufacturing facility. Relocation support may be available for exceptional candidates. Key Responsibilities Own and execute ZeroKey's company-wide AI enablement strategy and roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, scalability, and measurable ROI for each team. Embed with each function to map workflows, pain points, and data flows, and identify where AI meaningfully augments or automates the work. Evaluate, select, and manage AI tools, balancing functionality, security, cost, and demonstrated value. Continuously optimize the tech stack and retire underperforming solutions. Lead the end-to-end implementation of AI solutions, from opportunity assessment and proof of concept through deployment, adoption, optimization, and scaling across the organization. Build the assets that make tools effective, including agentic workflows, automations, prompt libraries, and integrations that connect AI capabilities to our existing systems and data. Partner with Engineering and IT on security review, system integration, and infrastructure for internal AI workloads. Establish AI usage governance: policies and guardrails that protect our IP, customer data, and sensitive information without strangling adoption. Continuously train and upskill every team through hands-on training, coaching, and ongoing support, building AI proficiency across departments and ensuring solutions become embedded in everyday workflows. Define success metrics and measure the impact of AI initiatives on productivity, efficiency, quality, cost savings, and business outcomes. Report results and recommendations to leadership regularly. Document playbooks, patterns, and lessons so wins from one team transfer to the next. Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, including emerging models, agentic technologies, automation frameworks, and industry best practices. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. At least 8 years of experience spanning technology and operations or process-improvement roles, including hands-on responsibility for deploying AI tools across an organization. Requirements: Deep, current, practitioner-level knowledge of the AI tool landscape: frontier LLMs, agentic workflows, coding assistants, and prompt engineering. Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable business value. Ability to demonstrate real-world implementations, not just conceptual knowledge or strategic recommendations. Broad understanding of corporate processes and data structures across functions (CRM, ERP, financial systems, engineering tooling). Strong technical proficiency in scripting and programming (e.g., Python), APIs, system integrations, and workflow automation tools, with the ability to independently deploy functional solutions. Proven change management skills with demonstrated examples of adoption you drove, resistance you converted, and training that stuck. Solid understanding of AI architecture, data management, and security principles, including data access controls, privacy, intellectual property protection, and model reliability. ROI-driven mindset with demonstrated experience establishing performance baselines, quantifying productivity improvements, evaluating cost-benefit tradeoffs, and making evidence-based decisions about which initiatives to scale or discontinue. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Considered an asset: Experience deploying AI in security-and-confidentiality-sensitive environments is a strong asset. Exposure to manufacturing or industrial technology companies is an asset.
