Job Summary
Join a creative team working on meaningful projects that support STEAM education and AI literacy across Canada. We're looking for a talented Digital Designer to help bring Ampere's brand to life across websites, online resources, and digital experiences. Working closely with the Associate Creative Director, you'll create engaging, accessible, and user-friendly experiences through wireframes, page layouts, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. We're looking for someone who is highly proficient in Figma, enjoys solving design challenges, and takes pride in creating thoughtful, well-crafted work. While the primary focus of this role is digital design, you'll also support the creation of print and marketing materials as needed. This is a hands-on role focused on collaboration, execution, and maintaining a high standard of quality across everything we create.
Job Responsibilities
Design and execute engaging digital experiences across websites, landing pages, online resources, and other digital touchpoints.
Create wireframes, user flows, page layouts, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that are intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging.
Support Ampere's internal initiatives, as well as digital experiences and creative assets for external partners, funders, and collaborative programs.
Take creative direction and project briefs and translate them into thoughtful digital experiences that are visually engaging, easy to navigate, and aligned with user needs.
Help maintain and evolve Ampere's digital design system, Figma libraries, and reusable interface components to support consistency across digital experiences.
Maintain and apply Ampere's brand across digital and print deliverables while supporting the ongoing evolution of brand standards and best practices.
Collaborate closely with the Associate Creative Director, as well as marketing, program, and development teams, to deliver effective creative solutions.
Use clear communication, incorporate feedback efficiently, and stay aligned with project goals, user needs, and technical requirements.
Design responsive experiences that perform effectively across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Support the creation of print and marketing materials as needed, including reports, event collateral, educational resources, and campaign assets.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines while preparing design files and supporting the successful implementation of digital experiences.
Attributes and Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Interactive Media, UX/UI Design, or a related field.
3+ years of experience designing websites, digital products, or online experiences.
Strong portfolio demonstrating website design, user interface design, and responsive digital experiences.
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, design systems, prototyping, and collaborative workflows.
Strong understanding of user experience principles, information architecture, and accessibility best practices.
Experience creating wireframes, user flows, page layouts, and high-fidelity interface designs.
Strong foundation in typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and digital design best practices.
Experience designing responsive experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and brand requirements when developing design solutions.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
Experience collaborating with developers and supporting design implementation.
Experience designing across both digital and print media.
Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
Clear communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles is an asset.
Experience in education, non-profit organizations, or mission-driven organizations is an asset.
