Job Summary: The Senior Digital Architect will provide leadership and oversight for architecture, application lifecycle management, business analysis, and solution delivery across the Court Technology Services (CTS) Applications, Data & AI portfolio. This role focuses on modernizing, enhancing, integrating, and supporting court applications and digital services while establishing standards and sustainable operating models. The position requires hands-on technical involvement, governance support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet evolving business and technical needs. Responsibilities: Lead solution and enterprise architecture activities including developing architecture roadmaps, defining principles and standards, producing artifacts, and assessing risks and feasibility. Provide technical leadership to development, support teams, and vendors; review designs and implementations; contribute to technical activities and promote best practices. Facilitate business and systems analysis through workshops, requirements gathering, documentation, and prioritization of initiatives. Support Application Management Services (AMS) with architecture oversight, incident reviews, problem management, release planning, and operational readiness. Participate in architecture governance, including Architecture Review Board reviews, standards development, compliance assessments, and continuous improvement. Review vendor proposals and deliverables, provide technical input for procurement, and ensure alignment with CTS standards and strategic objectives. Define architecture approaches for data, analytics, and AI initiatives, supporting secure, compliant AI use and data governance. Communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences through documentation, presentations, and briefings. Promote reuse, standardization, simplification, and operational sustainability; identify emerging technologies and modernization opportunities. Required Skills & Certifications: College or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field. Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF). Minimum 8 years experience leading cross-functional agile product teams and providing architectural direction. Minimum 5 years experience architecting, managing, and maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters. Minimum 8 years experience identifying and assessing requirements across multiple architecture domains including business, application, technology, data/information, security, and privacy. Minimum 7 years experience documenting application architectures in enterprise IT environments of comparable size and complexity. Minimum 7 years experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting platform solutions in large enterprise IT environments. Minimum 8 years experience providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presentations of architectural ideas and solutions. Completion of mandatory training including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training. Enhanced Security Clearance including criminal and credit checks. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Experience collaborating with data architects, engineers, and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services (5 years). Experience contributing to or developing application architecture standards and guidelines (5 years). Experience designing or maintaining solutions using enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) hub architecture registries (5 years). Experience developing solutions using amCharts charting framework in enterprise IT environments (5 years). Experience developing mobile solutions in enterprise IT environments (5 years). Experience working with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top Ten Web Application Security Flaws (5 years). Special Considerations: Role requires working onsite full-time at the CTS office in Edmonton, expected 5 days per week. Standard background check and enhanced security clearance required prior to commencement. Must complete all mandatory training courses related to privacy and security. Role is a 3-year term with possibility of 24-month extension. Equipment will be provided by Court Technology Services. Scheduling: Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 08:15 to 16:30 Mountain Time, excluding provincial holidays. Full-time position with a 7.25-hour workday.
