OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
We are seeking hands-on Data Engineers to design, build, and scale data pipelines within a complex, Azure-based healthcare environment. These roles are delivery-focused and critical to enabling interoperability, analytics, and AI/ML use cases across diverse data sources.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure services such as
ADF, Databricks, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric
Integrate data from multiple complex sources, including APIs, databases, flat files, and streaming platforms
Process and optimize large-scale datasets for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
Implement robust data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks within pipelines
Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and developers in Agile delivery teams
Ensure data security, privacy, and governance standards are applied in regulated environments
Enable downstream data consumption for:
Analytics and reporting platforms
Operational systems
AI/ML workloads
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Azure data services:
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Databricks
Synapse Analytics / Fabric
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
Proven track record handling large, complex datasets
Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines
Understanding of data integration patterns and ETL/ELT design
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices
Experience working in Agile environments
Preferred skills & Experience
Experience with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7)
Exposure to real-time or event-driven architectures:
Event Hub, Kafka, or similar technologies
Familiarity with data lakehouse architectures
Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines and feature engineering
Experience exposing data via APIs or data services
Certification in Azure or other relevant technologies
