Position Summary
The customs Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of import and export documentation to facilitate the smooth movement of goods across borders. This role works closely with international and domestic carriers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure compliance with all customs regulations and free trade agreements. The customs Coordinator plays a key part in maintaining up-to-date tariff information and supporting the business with customs needs.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare customs entries and follow up with the clearance and acquittal process.
Coordinate with international and domestic carriers and overseas vendors.
Maintain and update the Tariff Guide and duty rates in the ERP system.
Respond to import and export inquiries.
Prepare export documentation for all outbound shipments from Canada.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customs, logistics, or trade role.
Skills And Competencies
Proficiency in ERP.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Familiarity with procurement workflows.
Knowledge of US Customs regulations is an asset.
Working knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS Codes).
Familiarity with Other Government Agencies (PGAs).
Ability to reference and interpret D-Memos.
Understanding of Free Trade Agreements.
Certification
CSCB designation.
Working Conditions
Hybrid model: 4 days in office, 1 day remote.
40-hour work week.
