Job Responsibilities:

Customer Support
Prepares 24 hour responses and pink sheet for customer concerns. Maintain Paynter Charts process
Coordinate containment, sort/rework actions for external and internal issues
Leads and coordinates problem solving for customer concerns (customer specific reports: 8D, 7 step, 5 phase, Is/Is Not, 6 Panel, etc.)
Participate in customer IQ meetings
Coordinates warranty tear down analysis and problem solving resolution/reports
Manages field representatives to ensure effective containment and timely closure of customer concerns and New Model Launch support
Updates control plans matrix graphing customer concerns
Performs customer good will visits
Attend plant trials from Control Plan (CP) to Job1
Review Government approvals required to develop inspection standards
Production Support
Identify quality improvement and defect prevention by developing and implementing mistake/error proofing fixtures and devices
Initiate Process Change Notifications (PCNs) to initiate change or alterations to the current manufacturing process
Facilitate quality related meetings for assigned products and keep up to date meeting minutes
Leads and Coordinates problem solving for internal concern resolution
Coordinates and approves shop floor containment process and follows up on execution
Updates Business Center panels and participates in weekly report our meetings
Participates in the approval process of temporary deviations to current product and processes (i.e. Supplier Request Deviations, Customer Change)
Develops test plan for PCN and coordinates test completion
Participates in Layered Process Audits (LPA) and supports closure of open items found during the audit
Reviews and signs off work orders for engineering changes, special build, and service
Participates in 5S implementation.
Perform daily line walks on assigned assembly lines
Maintains safety and good housekeeping at all times
Testing
Aid in developing In Process(IP)/Product Validation(PV) (annual revalidation) test plans for Design Engineers
Coordinates test sample build with Manufacturing Engineer, Production and, Suppliers
Pre and Post test set up/fixture reviews and sign off, including test results
Participates in Troubled Incident Report (TIR) investigation, prepares 8D report, and ensures timely closure for DV/PV/IR/RV testing
Assists PQ inspectors/Fixture engineer to maintain T&E/ durability fixtures
Trains Inspectors/Operators on proper inspection techniques
Conduct Test Fixture Verification - Vehicle alignment, review and sign off to verify request, set up, etc.
Ensure proper level test parts are built and delivered to test lab
Cost Reductions
Supports reduction/elimination of added operators
Reviews/assesses process improvements
Suggests part design alternatives to reduce costs
Supports Business Center initiates to reduce scrap and improve efficiency
Provides timely disposition on Material Review Board (MRB) material (on hold or rejected products)
Identify and implement labor savings opportunities (direct and indirect) where feasible
IATF 16949
Conducts self audits to current procedures as assigned
Updates internal procedure based on audits and employee suggestion
Leads the resolution of Corrective Action Requests as assigned
Participates in Quality Systems Audits with customer and external auditors
Performs training to Operation Quality Procedures
Provide guidance mentorship for Plant Quality Specialist B and C levels and Supervise Quality Inspectors
Train members of operations team in specific quality disciplines as required
Participates in quality systems audits with customer and external auditors as required
Qualifications:
Completion of community college diploma/certificate
3 to less than 5 years of work related experience
Minimum completion of post secondary education program in mechanical/quality engineering
ASQC certification as a quality engineer (CQE) preferred
Experience with Tier1 automotive preferred
A-Level requires a minimum of 5 years related manufacturing experience in a high speed assembly / manufacturing environment
X - Ray Safety Officer Preferred
IPC Certified Trainer Preferred
