Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Custom Stainless Steel Fabricator with advanced TIG welding skills to join our fabrication team.
The successful candidate will fabricate custom stainless steel equipment and components for food-processing and commercial kitchen applications. This role requires the ability to independently complete projects from blueprint review through fabrication, welding, finishing, and final assembly.
Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
Layout, measure, cut, form, fit, and assemble stainless steel components.
Perform precision GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel materials.
Fabricate custom food-processing equipment and commercial kitchen equipment.
Work with stainless steel grades 304 and 316.
Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, rollers, band saws, ironworkers, grinders, and polishing equipment.
Fabricate sanitary stainless steel assemblies requiring smooth weld finishes suitable for food-contact applications.
Grind, polish, and finish stainless steel surfaces to customer specifications.
Inspect fabricated products to ensure quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with drawings.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Collaborate with designers, project managers, and installation teams on custom fabrication projects.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in custom stainless steel fabrication.
Minimum 5 years of GTAW (TIG) welding experience on stainless steel.
Experience fabricating custom commercial kitchen equipment and/or food-processing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
Experience working with stainless steel grades 304 and 316.
Experience with custom one-off and small-batch fabrication projects.
Strong understanding of stainless steel finishing and polishing techniques.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience fabricating sanitary stainless steel equipment for food manufacturing environments.
Experience with conveyors, processing equipment, hoppers, guards, tanks, workstations, and custom stainless steel assemblies.
CWB welding certification or equivalent.
Forklift and overhead crane experience.
Trade certification in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field.
