These Critical Care RN jobs in the USA are for Canadian nurses who have completed the NCLEX-RN, have at least one year of recent hospital-based ICU or Critical Care experience, and are willing to relocate to the United States. Critical Care and ICU RN Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Assessing and monitoring critically ill patients Managing complex and rapidly changing medical conditions Administering medications, blood products, and IV therapies Caring for mechanically ventilated patients Managing arterial lines, central lines, and critical care equipment Administering and monitoring vasoactive medications Responding to emergencies and changes in patient condition Developing and updating individualized nursing care plans Maintaining accurate clinical documentation Educating patients and families Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams Following infection prevention and patient-safety procedures Minimum Requirements Canadian citizenship; required for TN visa eligibility Active Canadian RN registration in good standing NCLEX-RN successfully completed Eligibility to obtain a nursing licence in the applicable U.S. state At least one year of recent hospital-based Critical Care or ICU RN experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications Strong English communication skills Willingness to relocate to the United States Ability to satisfy hospital screening and health requirements A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred and may be required by certain hospital employers. Preferred Critical Care Nursing Experience VisaScreen or Visa4Nurses Certificate completed or in progress Two or more years of recent Critical Care or ICU experience MICU, SICU, CVICU, CCU, Neuro ICU, or Trauma ICU experience Ventilator and airway-management experience Hemodynamic monitoring experience Experience with central lines, arterial lines, and vasoactive medications Critical care nursing certification Experience caring for high-acuity patients Critical Care RN Pay and Benefits U.S. hospital employers offer approximately $32 to $65 USD per hour , depending on the position, state, schedule, and experience. This is approximately $44 to $90 CAD per hour for comparison. Exchange rates fluctuate, and employees are paid in U.S. dollars.
