PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Train & Engine (T&E) employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Interpret and apply the applicable provisions of the T&E collective agreements
Enter data into the various computer applications such as, but not limited to, Crew Management Application (CMA), Nexus, Auto Crew Caller and Microsoft Office
Make business decisions based on priorities established by the Operations Centre (OC)
Answer any inquiries from employees
Maintain Crew Management Application records
Monitor T&E maximum hour clock and mandatory time on duty and rest rules
Be accountable for the proficient handling of other related tasks as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general equivalency
Previous dispatcher or call center experience would be considered an asset
Ability to work with minimum supervision and can make decision under stressful situations
Strong written and verbal communication/comprehension
Desire to work in a challenging environment
Ability to work in a team environment
Bilingual (French and English) considered an asset
This position is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, therefore shift work and weekend work are required
Ability to be flexible with changing work schedules
