In this role, you won't just be designing circuits; you’ll be the architect of the "brain" behind advanced controlled environments. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will translate complex project requirements into robust electrical designs, ensuring that every greenhouse and growth chamber operates with surgical precision. This is a high-impact opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation and see your designs move from the schematic phase to global installation.
Responsibilities
Design & Innovate:
Create and release comprehensive control system designs, including electrical schematics and detailed Bills of Materials (BoM).
Software Configuration:
Configure and fine-tune software logic to manage environmental variables in high-tech growth rooms and greenhouses.
System Architecture:
Develop and document the sequence of operations, turning client needs into functional engineering specifications.
Lifecycle Support:
Act as the technical bridge for manufacturing, supply chain, and service teams, ensuring design integrity from the factory floor to the field.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with R&D to standardize products, optimize material costs, and integrate the latest industry regulations.
Expert Troubleshooting:
Provide high-level technical support to installation and commissioning teams to root-cause complex control issues.
Risk Management:
Conduct engineering risk assessments and provide strategic recommendations to leadership to ensure quality and safety compliance.
Requirements
Education:
B.Sc. or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering/Technology.
Experience:
10+ years in Control System Design or a closely related field.
Technical Mastery:
Deep experience with PLC-based automatic control systems using sensor feedback and set-point driven logic.
Power Systems:
Proven track record designing low and high voltage systems (up to 600V) and three-phase applications.
Protocols & Standards:
Strong knowledge of PLC/DDC systems and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.), with a firm grasp of UL and CE standards.
Process Savvy:
Familiarity with ERP systems, BoM management, and formal engineering change processes.
Assets:
A
P.Eng designation
and specific experience in
HVAC electrical design
are highly desirable.
Rewards
Competitive Compensation:
Remuneration is highly competitive and tailored to your specific skill set and depth of experience.
Stability:
Full-time, permanent career opportunity.
Global Impact:
Work for a market leader making a tangible difference in global food security and plant research.
