POSITION SUMMARY : The main focus of the control room operator’s work is the operation of the Via Store system to move materials/ products in the distribution center in a timely and efficient manner. The role of the control room operator is to operate all aspects of control room operations during assigned shift. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operate the Viastore system to gather the outbound shipments efficiently. Operate the Viastore system to deposit incoming ware in a timely manner using first in first out (FIFO) methodology. Must be able to identify and report issues/problems in a clear and concise manner to the Viastore help desk. Oversee the pick I and tunnel area’s during daily operations. Identify problems with the Via Store system and relay them to the distribution center manager or supervisor, as required. Identify problems with conveyors, cranes, and all other hardware related to the automated pick/place equipment. Prove guidance on both the need for maintenance and if required, type of maintenance support. Use SAP to record inventory adjustments. Performs any other necessary paperwork. Release daily workload (deliveries) as well as requested releases by Customer Service. Participate in the process of taking physical inventories cycle counts as needed. Must be able to understand and perform all processes dealing with Viastore. Demonstrates behavior that meets Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition. Observe all safety precautions, rules and regulations and maintains work area in a clean and safe manner. Support the EHS, ISO, corporate and clean guidelines. Recognize his/her contribution to the effectiveness of the OPS including the benefits of improved performance. Comprehend the impact or effect of not conforming with OPS. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years distribution/ warehouse experience preferred. Basic computer experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office. WMS and/ or SAP experience a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Work may take place in an office, warehouse or manufacturing environment. The employee may encounter controlled air conditions with frequent air changes, environmental exposure. May need to lift or move up to 50lbs. Majority of time is spent standing but frequently required to walk, climb or balance. These are considered essential duties and are illustrative of those job tasks, which are fundamental.
