Construction Project Manager

Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead Industrial, Institutional, and Commercial projects across Western Canada, overseeing delivery from planning through completion across design-build, fixed price, and construction management models.
Must Haves
5+ years of project management experience within a General Contracting environment.
Proven experience managing Industrial, Institutional, and Commercial construction projects from inception through to completion.
Strong understanding of multiple project delivery methods, including design-build, fixed price, and construction management.
Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a equivalent experience.
Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.
Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, invoicing, change orders, and project administration.
Excellent communication, reporting, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage risk, solve problems, make sound decisions, and keep projects moving under tight deadlines.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across active construction projects.
Willingness and ability to support projects across British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba as required.
Nice to Haves
Experience working on pre-engineered metal building systems.
Experience supporting estimating activities or working closely with project estimators.
Experience managing projects across multiple provinces or regional markets.
Familiarity with owner, consultant, subcontractor, and supplier coordination in a General Contracting environment.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, subcontracts, schedules, and project documentation.
Experience preparing project forecasts, progress claims, and subcontractor progress draw reviews.
Ability to contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented construction environment.
Responsibilities
Manage construction projects from planning and pre-construction through execution, closeout, and final completion.
Oversee project planning, estimating support, contract management, scheduling, invoicing, collections, administration, and decision-making throughout the construction process.
Prepare, maintain, and update project files, documentation, drawings, specifications, subcontracts, schedules, and change orders.
Complete day-to-day project management tasks required to keep projects organized, documented, and progressing on schedule.
Participate in client meetings with internal teams during the early stages of new project opportunities.
Manage owner and consultant-initiated change notices and change orders.
Request, review, and coordinate subcontractor pricing for change notices and process subcontractor change orders.
Receive, review, coordinate, and process shop drawings.
Set up and attend site subcontractor coordination meetings, record meeting minutes, and distribute minutes to relevant parties.
Set up and attend owner and consultant meetings, record meeting minutes, and distribute minutes to relevant parties.
Support the Project Estimator in preparing estimates when required.
Review and approve subcontractor monthly progress draws.
Prepare monthly progress claims and submit them to the owner for payment.
Prepare monthly project forecasting and provide accurate reporting on budget, schedule, risks, and project status.
Ensure the Site Superintendent has current and accurate project documents, including drawings, specifications, subcontracts, schedules, and change orders.
Coordinate effectively with owners, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and internal stakeholders.
Identify project risks, resolve issues proactively, and support successful project delivery across Industrial, Institutional, and Commercial construction projects.
