The Role
GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Completions Technician to join our valued client's team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a Full-Time Contract role supporting Completions and Smart Completions activities across all phases of a major capital project, from Construction Turnover through to Operations Handover.
Reporting to the Completions Manager, the position begins with a focus on preservation records and data management, then evolves through project startup into full support of the Completions Team. This includes ITR and Punch List management, systems handover, document control, and project reporting, working closely with Project, Engineering, Construction, Quality, Commissioning and Startup (CSU), and Operations teams.
What You'll Do
Maintain preservation records and data in Smart Completions, including updates from Material Receiving Reports (MRRs), Preservation Matrix changes, Technical Query outcomes, and asset data entry
Participate in meetings and discussions with Preservation Contractors, the Construction Preservation Team, and project engineering teams
Support the auditing of uploaded checksheets for the monthly CSU audits
Support ITR and Punch List management, including adding and importing punch items, maintaining the master Punch List, assigning ITRs to assets, and uploading completed ITRs
Issue procedures and work instructions through Document Control and OpenText to project users
Support the handover of systems, confirming readiness for commissioning and energization
Assist in generating project reports and monitoring overall project progress
Manage documentation and support documentation audits for Smart Completions
Adhere to all project site-specific HSE directives, participate actively in safety meetings, and ensure incidents are promptly reported, investigated, and corrected
What You Bring
5 to 10 years of work experience involving document management and Completions activities
Familiarity with quality documentation on major projects
Understanding of the Turnover (TO) and by-system handover processes for major projects
Understanding of Construction and Commissioning Inspection and Test Records (A and B ITRs) and the requirements for acceptance
Ability to read P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and other project technical documentation
Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Suite
Excellent communication skills, with a proactive, self-starting approach
Organized, focused, and detail oriented, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment
Collaborative team player with a positive and helpful attitude
Preferred Qualifications
Hexagon Smart Completions software experience
Work Environment
Primarily office and desk based, with frequent focused computer work across various software
Frequent reading and reviewing of technical documentation
Infrequent walking and driving, with on-call requirements unlikely
