College & Career Counselor at Spectrum International School — NeverHard

Spectrum International School is seeking a qualified and dedicated College & Career Counselor to guide students through a long-term, structured pathway from early secondary school to successful university admission. The Counselor will play a key role in helping students discover their interests, develop their strengths, build meaningful academic and extracurricular profiles, and prepare competitive university applications. The role is particularly focused on starting university and career preparation early — from Grades 6–7 — rather than beginning the process only in the final years of school. Key Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to students in Grades 6–12 on academic development, career exploration, extracurricular activities, and university planning. Develop and implement a long-term university and career guidance program, beginning in Grades 6–7 and progressing through Grades 8–12. Help students from Grades 6–7 identify their interests, strengths, talents, and potential areas of study, and guide them in exploring different academic and career pathways. Work with students to develop a meaningful academic and extracurricular portfolio over several years, including competitions, Olympiads, research projects, volunteering, leadership activities, sports, arts, clubs, community projects, internships, summer programs, and other relevant experiences. Help students understand which competitions, projects, programs, and extracurricular opportunities can support their interests and strengthen their future university applications. Maintain an individual student development and university-planning profile, tracking achievements, activities, awards, projects, skills, interests, and areas for further development. Beginning in Grades 8–9, help students develop a clearer academic and career direction and create an individual roadmap for university preparation. In Grades 10–12, provide comprehensive support with university research, university selection, application strategy, personal statements/essays, CVs, recommendation letters, interviews, scholarships, and deadlines. Support students applying to universities in the US, UK, Canada, Europe, Asia, and other international destinations. Organize and lead university information sessions, career days, application workshops, parent meetings, and presentations. Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, admissions officers, educational organizations, and international university representatives. Keep up to date with international university admission requirements, changing application systems, scholarship opportunities, and global higher education trends. Work closely with school leadership, teachers, academic counselors, and parents to ensure that students receive consistent and comprehensive support. Prepare school reports, recommendation letters, counselor statements, and other supporting documents as required. Encourage students to take ownership of their academic and personal development and become confident in making informed decisions about their future. Be an active and visible presence within the school community. Our Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience in college counseling, career guidance, or a related field. Strong understanding of international university admissions and higher education systems. Experience supporting students with academic planning, extracurricular development, and university applications. Ability to work with students from an early age and develop long-term individual development plans. Strong knowledge of extracurricular opportunities, competitions, academic programs, volunteering, research, and other activities that can contribute to a student’s profile. Excellent communication, organizational, mentoring, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is required.
