Our head office is located in Drayton Valley, AB, with a secondary location just 5 minutes away from Sylvan Lake, AB, on Highway 11. Newforce has an opening for a Class One Truck Driver. About this Opportunity: Newforce is currently looking for a Class One Truck Driver who is hardworking and reliable to work in the Oil & Gas industry. The individual we are looking for can work efficiently and safely with a clean driving record. Qualifications and Experience Must be from the Lacombe, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake or Ponoka area to be considered. Must have 5 years of experience as a professional driver with low-bed trailer experience. Oilfield experience in heavy hauling in remote areas. Class 1 Licence with 3-year clean commercial driver abstract. Oilfield safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid, and Common Safety Orientation. Ability to load and unload heavy equipment or material is an asset. Preference given to those with equipment operating (Hoe, Dozer) experience. Key Responsibilities Safely operate the tri-axel truck and trailer. Loading and unloading heavy equipment, with winching experience Loading and unloading materials such as pipes and casing. High-boy, low-boy trailer experience. Belly dump, end dump, gravel. Chain up tires in muddy or winter conditions. Drive on rough roads, steep grades, and off-road conditions with a truck and trailer. Drive to remote locations and follow various maps to find work sites. Participate in, promote, and adhere to the safety of the company, the clients, and the legislation. Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including daily pre-trip, post-trip inspections, and log books. Understand the rules of the road with truck routes, load capacity, weigh scales, rest, and travel. Perform daily housekeeping of the truck, tools, and stock supplies needed for the task. Report truck and equipment repairs to dispatchers. Be proficient in verbal and written communication in the English language. Report to various work sites as directed, following instructions given. Commitment to safe work practices, Newforce policies and procedures. Be able to adapt to changes in environments quickly (weather, traffic, road conditions) Knowledge and understanding of basic truck maintenance. Working Conditions: Work outdoors in hot or cold temperatures Work shifts can change depending on the project's needs Job scope may change as per project needs Tasks and duties, while on-site, may change.
