Position Summary
The Centre Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, administration, and programming of the child care centre. This includes ensuring compliance with the Saskatchewan Child Care Act, 2014 and Child Care Regulations, 2015, supporting staff, maintaining licensing requirements, and fostering a developmentally appropriate, inclusive environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of centre operations and early learning programming.
• Ensure compliance with provincial legislation, licensing standards, and policies.
• Hire, supervise, mentor, and schedule staff; maintain required ratios and qualifications.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
• Communicate effectively with families and community partners.
• Lead curriculum planning and documentation of children’s learning.
• Manage administration including budgeting, policies, licensing renewal, and regulatory reporting.
Required Qualifications
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level III Certification.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development, inclusion, and curriculum planning.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Assets / Preferred Experience
• Experience in a licensed Saskatchewan child care centre.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Familiarity with provincial licensing and regulatory standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to inclusive practice.
