Job Description Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)-Regina and the University of Saskatchewan (U of S), Department of Psychiatry, seek a team-oriented Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to be part of our dynamic and expanding Department. The successful candidate will provide services to effectively address the mental health needs of pediatric patients. The position is funded through an Alternate Funding Plan (AFP) and provides the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (CAP) with remuneration for clinical duties. Potential areas of clinical work include outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, consultation-liaison to medical and surgical units and daytime coverage of emergencies. The successful candidate will provide clinical and academic services as a member of the Department of Psychiatry and will hold appointments with both the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Academic services are remunerated separately from the AFP. Appointment with the university will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level. Night and Weekend call coverage provides for a balanced lifestyle as it is shared with all other Psychiatrists (Adult and CAP) in the Department, includes coverage of both Adult and CAP patients, and is currently at a frequency of about once per month. Job Qualifications Successful candidates will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Preference will be given to candidates with a special interest and additional training in Psychotherapy and those with RCPSC designation in Psychiatry. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care. Individuals will be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the .
