Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division at Waterloo Regional Health Network is seeking an in‑person Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to support our busy inpatient and outpatient services. The team consists of six child psychiatrists who collaborate in a patient‑ and family‑centered, team‑based environment. Our acute inpatient unit has 21 beds. In the outpatient clinic we provide urgent referrals from the Emergency Department and family physicians, offering short‑term follow‑up psychiatric care supported by allied health, psychology and nursing staff. We also provide consultative services for non‑urgent referrals. WRHN Midtown is a 665‑bed community hospital and an accredited teaching site of McMaster University. We routinely host psychiatry residents and medical students. In addition to child and adolescent psychiatry, our services include a 51‑bed acute adult inpatient unit with psychiatric intensive care capabilities, a newly created 10‑bed adult unit, an extended assessment mental health unit adjacent to the Emergency Department, and 50 rehabilitative psychiatry beds at our Chicopee site. The department is 28 members strong. Call duty is infrequent, typically one to two times per month. Reimbursement is fee‑for‑service, supplemented by stipend funding. This is a full‑time position that involves both inpatient and outpatient care. Eligibility and Experience Licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry. Interest from residents in their final year of specialty training is welcome. Comfortable with medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions. Experience in a team‑based environment preferred.
