Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur client is an established and growing Calgary-based retail organization seeking a strategic and hands-on Fractional CFO to support the business through its next stage of growth and operational evolution. This opportunity is ideal for a senior finance leader who brings strong commercial acumen, experience within retail or consumer-focused environments, and the ability to provide both strategic guidance and operational financial leadership in a flexible, part-time capacity. What you'll do: Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to ownership and executive leadership Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning initiatives Deliver timely financial reporting, analysis, and KPI tracking to support business decisions Support operational efficiencies, margin improvement, and profitability initiatives Oversee banking relationships, financing activities, and working capital management Evaluate and strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting systems Partner cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, inventory, and leadership teams Support long-term growth planning, business strategy, and potential expansion initiatives Provide mentorship and leadership to internal accounting and finance staff as needed Who you are: CPA designation required 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior leadership or CFO-level exposure Experience within retail, consumer goods, distribution, or multi-location operations preferred Strong understanding of inventory, cash flow, margin management, and operational finance Proven ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within entrepreneurial environments Experience supporting owner-led or privately held organizations is considered an asset Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills Why join: Flexible fractional engagement structure Opportunity to partner with an established and reputable Calgary-based organization Collaborative and entrepreneurial environment Ability to make a meaningful impact on business performance and growth strategy Apply Today!
