Job DescriptionJob Description For more than 70 years, Border Paving Ltd. has played a key role in building and maintaining Alberta's infrastructure. We are currently hiring a class 1 Cement Pneumatic Bulker Driver. Experience with operating cement bulker, loading bulk cement powder, and safely delivering and unloading material at various jobsites. Driver must be confident around active construction sites and working in tight or challenging areas. The position is primarily a bulk cement (powder) driving role. During periods when powder hauling is not required, truck and pup hauling aggregate and asphalt will be needed. Job Responsibilities Operate cement bulker truck safely - load, transport and unload product on jobsites When not hauling cement, operate a truck & pup hauling gravel / asphalt Complete daily trip inspections, logbooks and required paperwork using company paper and electronic systems Ensure loads are secure and within legal weight limits Follow all company safety policies, transportation regulations and site requirements Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors and crew members Report equipment issues, incidents and near misses promptly Perform basic equipment care and minor maintenance as needed Qualifications Valid Class 1 Driver's License with current driver's abstract Experience operating cement bulker configurations considered an asset Knowledge of safe hauling practices and applicable regulations Strong commitment to safety, reliability and teamwork Ability to work overtime, weekends, and out of town as required during the construction season (May - November) What We Offer Competitive wages based on experience Benefits Profit sharing Company Share Ownership Program Ongoing training and development Opportunities for advancement Steady work during the construction season Many of our leaders started in field or entry level roles and we believe strongly in promoting from within.
